The Right Reverend Scott Dennis Mitchell was consecrated Suffragan Bishop on April 23rd 2021,The Feast of St. George at Saint Augustine of Canterbury Anglican Church in Chico, California by the Most Reverend John E. Upham, the Right Reverend Donald M. Ashman and the Right Reverend Peter F. Hansen with a Letter of Consent by the Right Reverend Blair W. Schultz read during the Testimonials.
Bishop Mitchell grew up in Concord, CA. Following high school, He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a full-time municipal firefighter and police officer/detective until retirement in 2008. He graduated from the University of San Francisco in 2003 with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. He was ordained a Priest in the Anglican Church in 2005 after graduating from St. Michael’s Seminary with a Master of Ministry degree. He served at St. David’s Anglican Church in San Rafael, CA. as curate until 2005 after which, he began service at St. Luke’s. He lives with his wife Linda in Red Bluff. He has 2 daughters and 7 grandchildren.
