Academic Program

The College admitted its first class of scholars for the full course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Sacred Theology (S.T.B.) in the fall of 1979. This course requires two years from matriculation to the awarding of the S.T.B. At the end of his studies, the scholar should be well prepared to take the ordination examination for the Diaconate.

The curriculum is that of the traditional Anglican theological education, concentrating on Scripture, Doctrine, and Church History (particularly Early Church and Reformation). Although the College, like the Province it serves, is conservative and catholic in outlook, the academic course is meant to encourage students to think critically and objectively about theological issues and to be aware of modern developments in theological scholarship.
