The Lost Sheep and Coin

The Shepard's job was to watch his sheep,
Whom he had an amount of one hundred,
He cared for them if they were awake or in sleep,
One day one wandered off, which made the
Shepard wonder and worry,

Also on that same day a woman loses a precious coin of hers,
She looks so carefully and wonders,
She cares for the coin,
And would do anything for it.

But time was spent and the lost was soon found,
As God cares for us we are always cared for and loved,
He will search sky and ground,
But we always know we will be found.

The Woman with the 5 Sons,
and the Woman with the Lost Coin

Once there was a mother with 5 sons. One day, the eldest brother was hunting and got lost during the night. The mother and the rest went out to find him; by the time they found him, the mother was late for an important meeting. Did she A.) throw a party? Or B.) get upset that she missed her meeting? The answer is A, she threw a party.

The mother and her five sons, and the woman and the lost coin (in Luke 15) are the same. Just read them. When the woman lost her coin, she lit her lamp and searched for it. She finally found it and called her friends and said, "Let us rejoice! For I have found the coin which I had lost." The story means you should rejoice over the sinner who repents. To repent means God is happy when God's children are sorry for the wrong things they do, and they stop doing it.

You should rejoice over the sinner who repents!

The Resurrection of Jesus

One day Mary and some friends went to the tomb to put ointment on Jesus. But when they got there the tombstone was open. Jesus was not there. Instead an angel was there. He said that Jesus had risen! He wanted them to tell the disciples that too.

Before Jesus had died, Jews thought that nothing happened after you died. So when Jesus came back alive, they thought that he was a ghost. He said that he was not a ghost and he showed them that he could eat and drink. The disciples were no longer fearful.

Jesus said in JOHN 14:2 "in my Father's house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also." In this verse, Jesus promises those who want to follow Him that after we die, we will go to live with Him in heaven.

The Prodigal Son

A nice man had two sons. The youngest son wanted money. The other gave them their inheritance. The youngest son went out and spent all of his money on stuff, like candy and soda. After the money was gone, he was hungry. He took care of pigs and ate their food. The son made a mistake. He was sorry. He was forgiven. I have learned to forgive.

The Prodigal Son

There was a wise, rich, Christian man who had two sons. The sons always helped their father at home. The father also had servants.

The youngest son thought that he and his brother should split their inheritance before their dad dies. The father agreed, and gave the money.

The oldest son stayed home and helped his father. The youngest son left home and spent the money foolishly. He spent the money on gambling, drinking, etc., and friends. When all of his money was gone, his friends left him in the dust. A famine came to the land. Everyone had trouble growing crops, and they didn't have enough to eat. The youngest son was hungry. He worked feeding pigs and ate their food. Then he thought, Man, the servants always had enough to eat at Father's house. So he decided to go back home.

When he came back home, his dad was so glad to see him. He ran to hug, and welcome him home. They prepared a big feast for him. His old brother was envious and angry. He had stayed home, and done all that he should have, and he never had been given a celebration. The dad was a loving man. He loved both sons equally. The father said that his youngest son was lost and now found. He was dead, and now he is alive. So they all were happy that the younger brother was back.

THE END

What I learned from this story is that we should forgive one another. Just like the father in the story forgave his son for spending all his money. So that we can ask God for forgiveness, and he'll forgive you.

The Prodigal Son

Jesus told a story about the prodigal son. He had no food to eat, he had to eat pig food. There was no road. He had to walk by himself. All of his friends were gone. He wanted to go home. His father was glad to see him, and gave him a party. His father forgave him like God forgives us.

The Prodigal Son

A kind man had two sons. If the man died, they would take all of his belongings as their inheritance.

The youngest son left home and took his share. He was very unwise. He spent all of his money. All of his friends left him alone. He was very sad.
A famine came to the land. There was almost no food. He had to work feeding pigs.

Since he had nothing to eat. He ate their food.

He went home and told his father that he was sorry. They had a feast. The oldest son was mad. The father told him that all that he had was also his.

Everyone was happy and joined the celebration. The youngest son was lost, and now he is found.

I learned that when you're not ready to take something don't take it.
We must forgive as the Father forgave his Son.

The Prodigal Son

A friendly man had two sons. The youngest son said to his father, "We should split up all our money and things that you have." The youngest son was unwise. He went away with all of his money. He spent all of it foolishly. Some of the things he bought were for his friends, soda, and candy.

Soon all the money was gone. His friends left him. There was nothing to eat; his friends were not there to help him. He worked feeding pigs, and ate the pigs food.

He went home to say "sorry" to his father. The father wanted to have a feast to celebrate. He said that his son was lost, now he's found. His oldest son was gelous. His father said everything I have is yours. His father forgave him, as God forgives us.

The Holy Trinity

One of the most important beliefs of the Catholic Church is belief in the Holy Trinity. The word "trinity" means "three people considered as a unit" or "the state of being threefold or triple"[1], and this is exactly what we believe the Holy Trinity to be. It is the unity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The preacher Walter Martin summed it up in saying: "The Doctrine of the Trinity teaches that within the unity of the one Godhead there are three separate persons who are coequal in power, nature, and eternity."

The three members of the Trinity aren't three separate people, but they aren't just one person either. They are three beings who united together are God Almighty. They are separate but the same. How this is possible is unknown to us, but we as Catholics believe it all the same.

The first of these three persons is God the Father. God the Father is not only Jesus' father, but the Father of all who are baptized in His name. He loves and cares for us, and speaks to us through prayer.

The second member of the Trinity is God the Son, or Jesus. Jesus was sent by God, His father, to save us from our sins. Jesus was born to Mary as a human child, and He spent His life preaching and saving sinners. He died on the cross so that we could have eternal life in Heaven.

The third entity of the Trinity is God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us and shows us the path that God wants us to follow. He comes to us at the sacrament of Holy Confirmation and gives us His gifts, wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. These gifts enable us to fully serve God through our actions.

While we may not entirely comprehend the Holy Trinity and its presence in our lives, we can gain understanding through prayer and reading the Scriptures. God wants us to love every part of Him, and that means loving every part of the Holy Trinity, too.

The Lost Sheep and Coin

When someone asks you, "Who is your Saviour", who do you automatically think of? Jesus Christ and God. Without them there is no shining light, no one who understands and ultimately forgives you.

The sheep would stray and wander without a Shepard, someone to guide them in life. With a Shepard they know the right direction and even though some may create havoc and choose the wrong path the Shepard is always there to show them the right way. Just like Jesus is there to show us the right way.

Also, a coin with out anyone possessing it is just another coin. It is always worth something but unless it has an owner the use of it is pointless. A human without Jesus and God in their life is still human but they haven't found that purpose in their life yet.

God and Jesus show the purpose in everyone's life and without their help and guidance life would be much more difficult.

Thankfully, we always know we can run to Jesus.

I am the Way the Truth and the Life

Is he mad?
Is he insane?
Is God inside him?
Or is he plain?
Does he know perfect right from wrong?
Will he leave us in not so long?
Why don't we disciples know?
Would we believe him if he made it rain, hail or snow?
Do we need another miracle to believe
He is the way the truth and life?

Some believe, some do not
We believe, but not so much.
Is there something wrong with us?
It is early, later on
something will happen
He will find a cure
He will make things right,
But will it cause an angry fight?
Now we believe, yes its true,
He is the way, truth and life
But do you?

MAN RETURNS FROM THE DEAD

By staff reporter Rose Brallier

When Mary Magdalene came to the tomb of Jesus of Nazareth the last thing she expected was to find the body gone. "I was so confused. I thought the authorities had taken the body away," said Magdalene. "I ran and told two of Jesus' disciples, Peter and John, the body of our Lord was missing."

Peter and John hurried to the tomb. In an interview with John, he described, "I hesitated to enter, but Peter walked right in. We wondered if our Lord had risen from the dead." Peter recalled, "We saw the linen burial cloth lying empty on the ground."

Peter and John went home, but Magdalene stayed at the tomb weeping. "I looked up and saw two angels sitting in the tomb. They asked why I was weeping. I told them it was because my Lord's body was gone."

Magdalene turned around to see a gardener behind her. "He also asked why I wept. I told him that my Lord had disappeared. Then he called me by name and I knew that he was Jesus. The Lord has risen!"

MAN ESCAPES HIS TOMB!

A TV newscast by MW

Newscaster: Just eight days ago, a man has escaped from his tomb! Police believe it is Jesus who escaped, but they are not sure. We interviewed Mary Magdalene about what happened in that tomb.

Mary Magdalene: I was walking back to my house and the boulder blocking the tomb to Jesus' tomb was gone! I went inside and all I saw were the strips of linen and the burial cloth! I told the police, but they wouldn't listen! So I asked John and Peter, two disciples of Jesus and they ran to the tomb.

Newscaster: After the break we will interview John and see what he thinks about this terrible tragedy.

Commercial announcer: "Hello, I'm Peter! Peter's woodcutting service. Do you have trees in the way? Well, call 295-666-8891 and for $25.00 I'll cut as many trees as you want! Better than John's woodcutting service! Voted best woodcutting service in Jeruselem!

Newscaster: We are back and now we're going to interview Peter about what happened. John is busy working on his Gospel so Peter's here to tell us what happened.

Peter: Mary was right! John and I thought she was crazy but when we arrived we saw just the linen and the burial cloth! When we were walking back I got a call on my cell phone and it was Mary. She told us that Jesus had risen from the dead and he asked all the disciples to meet him at Galilee. I was overjoyed. I set off with the other disciples immediately!

Newscaster: What will happen next? Stay tuned next week on B.R.E.A.D. TV to find out.

MAN FOUND MISSING FROM TOMB

TV news story by Stephen Baddeley

Newscaster: Police are investigating a tomb where a man named Jesus was put after being killed because he said "he is the son of God." The body has apparently been stolen from the tomb. Here is a witness named Peter:

Peter: We went over here as soon as Mary told us! I went in the tomb first, with John right behind me. We saw the strips of linen and the burial cloth, but no Jesus. We both wondered if Jesus body had been stolen or if he had risen from the dead. We went home, but Mary stayed there weeping.

Newscaster: Thank you, Peter. Now I'll bring it over to Jacob. Thank you, Sarah. I have heard that Jesus has risen from the dead to take revenge on Pilate for crucifying him. What do you have to say about this, Mary?

Mary: Jesus was a kind, peace-loving man. When John and Peter left the tomb, I stayed there. I was on my knees weeping, when I looked up and saw two angels sitting in the tomb. They asked me, "Why are you weeping?" I was afraid. I hesitantly answered, "They have taken my Lord away." As I was talking, I turned around and saw a man standing behind me. I had no idea who it was at first. He also asked why I was weeping. I thought he was the gardener, so I asked him if he knew where Jesus' body was. He answered, "Mary! It is I!" I realized that he was Jesus and could not contain myself! "My Lord!" I cried. "Go now, " he said. "Tell my friends that you have seen me, and that soon I will be with my father in Heaven." I quickly agreed and ran back to tell the disciples. Jesus is not risen to take revenge. He is risen to save a place for each one of us in heaven!

Newscaster: Thank you, Mary. The whole world is asking the same question: "Where is Jesus?"

MAN GONE MISSING FROM TOMB

By reporter Laura Baddeley

Mary Magdalene went to the tomb in the morning to put spices inside. When she got there, it was empty! Just then, she saw a gardener. "The Lord is gone!" she told him. "I am the Lord," he said. Mary Magdalene rushed to tell Peter and John she had seen the Lord. "Peter! John!" she yelled. "I have seen the Lord!" Peter and John rushed to see what was going on. When they got there, the tomb had nothing in it but strips of cloth. Now people will not stop talking about it.
