Lent 2003 Parish News The Rev. Mr. Robert Davis was ordained priest on April 5th, 2003, at St. Luke's Anglican Church in Redding, California, by Bishop James Province, where he is now serving as rector. The Rev. Peter Hansen preached at the Ordination Mass. Seminarian Jonathan Filkin was ordained deacon on Saturday, May 24th, 2003, at the Mass following the Synod of the Diocese of the Southwestern States, by Bishop Frederick Morrison. Deacon Filkin has been assisting at three Arizona congregations since his ordination, and will return to St. Joseph of Arimathea Anglican Theological College in the fall to complete his studies for the priesthood. Robert Frederickson was ordained to the diaconate by Archbishop Robert S. Morse during the synod of the Diocese of the Eastern States in May, 2003. Deacon Frederickson is Deacon-in-Charge of the Anglican Church of the Ascension in Vernon, Connecticut, and also serves as the diocesan youth camp director. The Rev. Mr. Michael Erickson was ordained to the priesthood on the Ninth Sunday after Trinity, August 17th, 2003, at St. Thomas' Church in San Francisco, California, by Archbishop Robert S. Morse. Fr. Erickson will be serving as an assistant priest at the St. Joseph of Arimathea Seminary Chapel in Berkeley. The Rev. Michael Mautner is the new rector of St. Stephen's parish in Oakville, California. The Rev. Mr. Gideon Seaman, a 2003 graduate of St. Joseph of Arimathea Anglican Theological College, has been assigned as curate of All Saints Pro-Cathedral in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Construction has begun to add parish and diocesan office space to All Saints Pro-Cathedral in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On Whitsunday the Rev. Dr. David F. T. Rodier was named Canon Theologian of the Province by Archbishop Robert S. Morse. St. Mary's parish in Plano, Texas, celebrated its 25th anniversary in June, with Bishop Frederick Morrison celebrating a Mass of Thanksgiving on June 22nd. Fr. Edward Jones is the rector. A Clericus for the Diocese of the Eastern States will be held in Connecticut from September 16th through the 18th, 2003. The Diocese of the Southern States will hold a diocesan
synod on October 2nd and 3rd, 2003, at Holy Comforter Anglican Church
in Montevallo, Alabama.
