Summer Youth Camps

The Anglican Province of Christ the King sponsored two summer youth camps in 2003, St. Luke's Summer Camp in California and Good Shepherd Summer Camp in Pennsylvania. Both camps were well attended and were outstanding successes. They combined the spiritual with the recreational, and included daily Mass, the Divine Office, catechesis and episcopal visits, along with lots of fun activities.

The campers at St. Luke's Camp enjoyed games, including ultimate frisbee, a hike to a ghost town, swimming, charades, a talent show, skits, singing around a camp fire, and a scavenger hunt; while the campers at Good Shepherd Camp held several campfires, a field day with races and other forms of competition, including the "bobbing watermelon," and held a hotly contested bowling competition. There were also crafts and various games in "the barn." Unfortunately, a canoe trip had to be cancelled due to a rain swollen Delaware River.

A good time was had by all at the two camps, and there were many tears shed as campers said goodbye to one another for another year. Fr. Dart, the Director of St. Luke's Summer Camp, reports that the 2004 Camp will be held on the same campground from July 18th to the 23rd, 2004.
