Trinitytide 2002 May Light Perpetual Shine Upon Him... The Rt. Rev. Haydn Jones, retired Bishop of Venezuela, died on June 16, 2002. Bishop Jones will be known to members of the Province for his participation in the consecration of The Rt. Rev. James P. Clark in 1990. He was Bishop of Venezuela from 1976 to 1986. He was also a champion bridge and tennis player, and even acted in Venezuelan films in his retirement. But above all, he was a staunch Anglo-Catholic who put himself on the line in order to secure the succession of an orthodox Anglican episcopacy. May he rest in peace. |
