Around the Province

The Rev. H. Bowen Woodruff has accepted a call to be the first vicar of St. Ann Chapel in Palo Alto, California, and to be the first Anglican chaplain to Stanford, University.

The Rt. Rev. James Provence, Ordinary of the Diocese of the Western States, ordained Dr. Edward H. Miller to the diaconate on Sunday, July 4th, 2004, at St. Bartholomew's parish in Woodinville, Washington. The Bishop also ordained Brian Faith to the diaconate on Saturday, July 17th, 2004, at St. Augustine of Canterbury parish in Chico, California.

The Rt. Rev. Frederick Morrison, Ordinary of the Diocese of the Southwestern States, entertained The Most Rev. Peter Akinola, Primate of the Anglican Church of Nigeria, and other clergy at a luncheon on October 13, 2004.

The Rt. Rev. Frederick Morrison, Ordinary of the Diocese of the Southwestern States, ordained the Rev. Mr. Gideon Seaman to the priesthood on Saturday, October 30, 2004, at All Saints Pro-Cathedral in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There he will serve as curate and bishop's chaplain. The Rev. Peter Hansen, rector of St. Augustine of Canterbury parish in Chico, California was the preacher.

The Rt. Rev. Rocco Florenza, Ordinary of the Diocese of the Eastern States, ordained Michael DuCette to the diaconate at Holy Apostles parish in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

The Rt. Rev. William Wiygul, Ordinary of the Diocese of he Souther States, ordained George Campbell Sprecht to the diaconate on Saturday, November 20th, 2004, at St. Charles parish in Huntsville, Alabama. Fr. Les McAbee was the preacher.

The Rt. Rev. William Wiygul, Ordinary of the Diocese of the Southern States, will ordain David Arthur Sweeney to the diaconate on Saturday, December 11, 2004, at St. George's parish in Raleigh, North Carolina. Fr. Upham will be the preacher. A reception will follow honouring Deacon Sweeney.
