Junior Writers Contest, Lent-Easter-Trinity,
2006
Archbishop Morse announced that the second half of the biannual
writing contest is currently open for all APCK Sunday School students,
Kindergarten through Grade 9, or ages 5 through 14. Entries may
be poems, essays, or stories, no longer than 1,000 words, dealing
with one or more lessons in the ACU Church School Series.
Winners from the Trinity/Christmas 2005 contest and the
Lent/Easter/Trinity 2006 contest will be eligible to compete
for the annual prizes: First Place Student, $500; Second Place Student,
$400; and Third Place Student, $300. The First Place Student's parish
will receive $1,000; the congregation with the largest number of
entries as a percentage of Sunday School enrollment, with a minimum
of ten students enrolled, will receive $1,000!
Winners may not resubmit the same year. Age will be considered
in the judging, and both clergy and laity will serve as judges.
The topics for the period ending June 30, 2006 are: Volume I -
Lesson 30, The Loaves and Fishes or Lesson 35, The Good
Shepherd; Volume II - Lesson 27, Jesus Heals the Lame
or Lesson 40, Pentecost, the Holy Spirit Comes to the Disciples;
Volume III - Lesson 28, Jesus Commands the Sea or Lesson
30, Zaccheus is Saved.
