Around the Province
The parish of St. Alban's in State College, Pennsylvania
has paid off their mortgage and now owns their historic church building.
All Saints parish in Bolingbrook, Illinois, is adding to
their sanctuary and completing their parking lot.
The Rev. Bill Cantrell, an assistant pastor at St. George's
parish in Las Vegas, Nevada, has left for duty in Iraq. Fr. Cantrell
is a chaplain in the United States Naval Reserve.
On February 12, 2006, the Rt. Rev. William Wiygul ordained the
Rev. Mr. Joel Albert Starr to the priesthood. Fr. Starr will
serve as an assistant pastor at the parish of Christ the King in
Washington, D.C.
On March 4, 2006, the Rt. Rev. James Provence ordained Tom Kelnhofer
to the diaconate, and assigned him to serve at St. Martin of Tours
parish in Concord, California.
On March 25, 2006, the Rt. Rev. James Provence ordained the Rev.
Mr. Frank (Tony) Sands to the priesthood. Fr. Sands will serve
as an assistant to Bishop Provence supplying to congregations in
the diocese.
On June 24, 2006, the Rt. Rev. Rocco Florenza will ordain the Rev.
Mr. Blair Schultz to the priesthood. Fr. Schultz will serve
as an assistant at All Saints parish in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
The 2006 Synod of the Diocese of the Western States will
be held May 4-6, in Chico, California. The host parish is St. Augustine
of Canterbury.
The 2006 Synod of the Diocese of the Southern States will
be held May 9-11, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The host parish is
St. George's Anglican Church.
The 2006 Synod of the Diocese of the Southwestern States
will be held June 8-10, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The host parish
is the Church of the Holy Cross.
The 2006 Synod of the Diocese of the Eastern States will
be held June 8-10, in Peqaukee, Wisconsin. The host parish is Holy
Apostles.
