Bishop Provence Installed

The Right Rev. James Eugene Provence was installed as the second Bishop of the Diocese of the Western States at the opening of the Diocesan Synod at Saint Augustine's Church in Chico, California. On Thursday, April 22, 2004, the Archbishop, in union with the College of Bishops, received Bishop Provence and invested him with full authority, both temporal and spiritual, as Chief Pastor of the Diocese of the Western States. The Right Rev. Rocco A. Florenza, Bishop of the Diocese of the Eastern States was the preacher during the Solemn Liturgy of the Installation of the Bishop.
