The Parish of Christ the King in Washington, D.C., representing
the Province joined with 200,000 others in the annual March for
Life in our nation's capital on January 22nd, the 31st anniversary
of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision. The Province holds the
orthodox belief that the soul of an individual begins at conception.
The Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., held an Archdiocesan Evangelism
Conference on February 8th. The Conference was led by Fr. Ron
Winchell, and was hosted by St. Athanasius parish in Ashland,
Virginia. The Conference closed with an open discussion and a reception.
Dr. Norman Flowers was ordained Deacon on March 13th, by
the Rt. Rev. Rocco Florenza, Ordinary of the Diocese of the Eastern
States, at Grace Church, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Fr. Samuel Edwards has accepted a call as assistant at the
Anglican Church of the Holy Comforter in Montevallo, Alabama, and
assumed that ministry on April 1st.
Brad Hulen was ordained Deacon on May 7th, by Archbishop
Robert Morse, at the Synod of the Diocese of the Southern States,
and was assigned to Holy Comforter parish in Montevallo, Alabama.
Fr. Edward Jones of St. Mary's Church in Plano, Texas, is
on a sabbatical. He has been succeeded as rector by Fr. David Cardona.
Fr. Bill Cantrell has been licensed by Bishop Frederick
Morrison to assist at St. George's parish in Las Vegas, Nevada.
St. Peter's, Nashville, Tennessee, is a new parish in the
Diocese of the Southern States. The Rev. Norman Flowers has
