All Saints Anglican Church Dedicated

A new church building for All Saints parish in Bolingbrook, Illinois, was dedicated by Bishop Rocco Florenza, Ordinary of the Diocese of the Eastern States, on Sunday, November 2nd. Established in 1996, the parish has held Services in a subdivision clubhouse, in members homes, in a funeral home, and later in a church building rented from a local protestant congregation.

In the summer of 2002 the parish purchased its own building located at 131 East Boughton Road in Bolingbrook. The building formerly served as the Bolingbrook Village Hall, and most recently as a funeral home. The first Mass celebrated in the new church was in August 2002; and in the Spring of 2003 the congregation began extensive remodeling while holding Services in the basement. The parishioners of All Saints did a lot of the remodeling work themselves which included painting the building and constructing a raised platform for the altar. A tall peaked roof and a steeple were also added to the building.

Sunday's Mass and Dedication Service conducted by Bishop Florenza concluded a full weekend of activities which began on Friday evening, October 31st , with a dinner for Bishop Florenza and parish leaders. Confirmation was followed by a parish supper on Saturday evening. Fr. John Hines, the rector of All Saints, said "God in his providence has brought us to the place we have yearned so long for, a special place, a house of worship and a temple of prayer."
