From the Archbishop

To the Clergy and Congregations of the Anglican Province of Christ the King
Dear Brethren,
One of the Church's most important responsibilities is the education of our
children, particularly in the Holy Scripture. An early introduction to the stories
of God and His people helps them to become solid citizens of the Kingdom of God.
The Anglican Province of Christ the King provides some tools to help in this
essential education. Through the American Church Union, we offer a Church School
curriculum based largely on Holy Scripture. This series makes it easy to teach
the stories of the Bible and suggests activities to reinforce those lessons.
The Christmas Pageant script, also available through the ACU, allows the entire
parish to act out the events of Advent, Christmas and Epiphany.
The Province also sponsors the Junior Writer's Program, giving our children
the opportunity to write their own thoughts about specific Bible stories. The
best of these creative works receive cash prizes.
The enclosed
brochure gives the topics for the current Junior Writer's contest along with
submission information. I hope that each Sunday School teacher will encourage
their students to participate.
Should you need any additional forms, please contact my office. If you have
questions about the contest, you may address them to Mrs. Christine Sunderland
at my office or by email to juniorwriters@aol.com.
I look forward to reading the entries.
Yours in Christ Jesus,

The Most Rev. James E. Provence
